A great game isn’t just about near-photorealistic graphics and flashy gameplay mechanics (indicated by the current state of AAA gaming); it’s also about the little things and details. Most of these are easily missed by the casual gamer, but they often influence the whole narrative, look, and feel of the game. This is perhaps best seen in From Software’s games and other Souls-like titles that spoon-feed their narrative and lore to players.

One of many aspects of what makes the game great and more immersive for players is the clothing of the characters and how well that clothing fits within the game’s setting. Unique costumes will always be more memorable for gamers, and they often end up becoming popular inspirations for beautiful cosplay creations among fans. Just like books, no games should be judged by their respective covers but by their contents, and character clothing and design make up a good chunk of it. So, we’re here to discuss some of the best video games for players who are in it just for the fashion.

Saints Row Series

One of the things the Saints Row series is known for, besides its over-the-top action and humor, is its approach to player customization — especially when it comes to character clothing. The first game, released in 2006, was relatively grounded when it came to aesthetics, focusing mostly on urban streetwear that reflected the gritty gang-centric theme of the game. Character customization was there, but it was very limited.

The 2008 sequel expanded the customization options by adding a wardrobe system that allowed players to mix and match different pieces of clothing to create unique styles. This is also the first game in which the Saints’ purple branding became more integral to character costumes. The third Saints Row game dove head first into the bizarre and comedic when it came to clothing, reflecting the shift from Saints’ street-level gang to a ludicrous crime empire.

Lies of P

If 2015’s Bloodborne and 2019’s Sekiro had a child, that child would be Lies of P: a souls-like that’s loosely based on The Adventures of Pinocchio that blends steampunk and Belle Epoque elements. The game doesn’t feature a traditional armor system like other games from the genre; instead, it relies on costumes that are purely cosmetical and don’t carry any stats like in more traditional roleplaying games.

The game starts with P dressed relatively simply, with clean lines and minimal ornamentation, highlighting his puppet origins. However, as the game progresses, players can unlock and equip various clothing sets, some of which feature intricate tailoring and luxurious fabrics, giving P a more noble appearance. Blue Blood’s Tailcoat, Red Fox’s Hunting Apparel, the Great Venigni’s Signature Coat, and White Lady’s Hunting Clothes are among undoubtedly the nicest costumes in the entire game.

Devil May Cry Series

The Devil May Cry gaming series — which is about to receive its anime adaptation from Netflix — is as much about stylish fashion as it is about stylish combat. Dante, the game’s protagonist, is nothing but stylish, and his wardrobe is the epitome of cool. Admittedly, his costumes do evolve over the course of the games, but the staples remain: red coat, leather, and an effortlessly rebellious vibe. Dante debuts with a striking red trench coat paired with a bare chest under a red harness and black leather pants. This look becomes the defining visual for the series.

In the fourth game, Dante sports a longer, more tailored red coat with intricate patterns, blending his rebellious nature with the sophistication that comes with age. The style doesn’t really change in the fifth game, but the leather coat begins showing signs of wear. Virgil’s wardrobe contrasts Dante’s style, emphasizing the twin’s elegance, discipline, and calculated demeanor, while Trish and Lady receive different costumes throughout the games that fit their femme fatale style.

Bayonetta

Bayonetta is a masterclass in high fashion blended with supernatural themes and combat-ready functionality. Bayonetta’s costumes emphasize elegance, sensuality, and power, as they’re the extension of her confidence and her identity as an Umbra Witch. For those who haven’t played the games, Bayonetta’s default outfit in the first game is made entirely of her magical hair.

Not to mention that she sports the best-looking set of high heels ever, with two guns strapped to Bayonetta’s high-heeled boots, which allows her to perform devastating attacks using her legs. This gives combat a rather unique feel that adheres well to the gaming series’ focus on stylish action. Bayonetta’s costume is often a favorite among cosplay fans.

The Witcher 3

Witcher 3 is among the most aesthetically pleasing games on the current market and features some great character costumes. While Geralt’s outfits are cool and have different stats, the female characters in the game sport some really interesting clothing. Geralt’s own armor sets inspire Ciri’s classical look, but it’s more balanced out with subtle royal undertones, while Triss’ attire features warmer tones, such as deep red and green, which symbolize her nurturing and approachable nature.

The biggest stand-out here is Yennefer’s costumes; her sleek and stylish black-and-white outfits often emphasize her refined and straightforward personality. One of the best costumes is the fur-lined jacket over a corset and leather trousers, which are both aesthetically pleasing and quite functional.

Honorable Mention: Aveline de Grandpré

Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation, which is currently only available through Steam, has one of the most unique wardrobe systems in the entire franchise. Aveline’s clothing is a part of the game’s Persona system, which allows Aveline to blend into various social environments by adopting three different roles: Assassin, Lady, and Slave. Each of these has its own costumes and gameplay perks, encouraging players to adapt to different situations in the game more creatively. Though the game didn’t fare very well among fans, Aveline’s costumes were praised for their innovation.

Final Thoughts

Though an aesthetic afterthought for many, video game fashion is a cornerstone of immersive storytelling and gaming experiences. And for gaming audiences who appreciate the attention to detail woven into every piece of clothing in games, the aforementioned titles prove that fashion in games isn’t just bonus content; it’s also a key part of adventure.

Chaos, cults, and a gleeful descent into madness are heading to television as FX has officially ordered a limited series adaptation of Far Cry, set to stream on Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ internationally. The project based on Ubisoft’s globally successful video game franchise will honor the games’ anthology DNA by introducing a new setting and cast with each season.

The series comes from powerhouse executive producers Noah Hawley and Rob McElhenney (credited as Rob Mac), with Mac also taking on the lead role. Both creators are deeply rooted in FX’s history: McElhenney is best known as the creator of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and executive producer of Welcome to Wrexham, while Hawley is the visionary behind the Emmy-winning anthology Fargo and Alien: Earth, recently renewed and critically acclaimed with a 92% Rotten Tomatoes score.

“FX has had magnificent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President of FX Entertainment. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is original, gripping and wildly entertaining.” Grad also thanked Ubisoft for entrusting FX with the adaptation.

In statements, both McElhenney and Hawley expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration. “Getting to work alongside Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” said McElhenney. He praised Ubisoft for handing over one of gaming’s most iconic worlds and credited FX for its ongoing support. Hawley echoed the excitement, emphasizing the thematic freedom that the franchise offers: “Each game is a variation of a theme, the same way each season of Fargo is a variation on a theme… To create a big action show that can change from year to year… is a dream come true.”

Executive producers also include Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, and Ubisoft’s Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill. FX Productions will oversee the series.

Since debuting in 2004, the Far Cry franchise has drawn more than 100 million players with its open-world environments, explosive combat, and unforgettable villains — including Giancarlo Esposito’s acclaimed turn as Antón Castillo in Far Cry 6.

With Hawley and McElhenney at the helm, FX’s Far Cry aims to bring the franchise’s signature blend of danger, dark humor, and psychological chaos to the screen setting the stage for one of TV’s most ambitious video game adaptations yet.

It was 1989, and the Orwellian nightmare we’d once feared felt safely postponed by a few decades. Many of us were preparing to party our way into the new millennium with Prince’s “1999,” even as the dread of an end-of-the-world scenario lingered thanks to the looming Y2K bug. Some of you may not remember that era, but rewind a bit further: in 1982, Maxis now long defunct released the original SimCity, a PC game that let players build and shape a city of their own, with every decision influencing success or collapse. Sixteen years later, Max Design expanded the genre with Anno 1602, introducing islands into the city-building equation. Fast forward to 2025, and Ubisoft has carried the Anno legacy forward with multiple entries, culminating in the latest installment, Anno 117: Pax Romana, released November 13, 2025.

Coming to Anno as a complete newbie, my first attempt was a spectacular disaster (note to self: should’ve visited the Anno Union). The controls take some effort to learn, especially when upgrading buildings, and the status bar across the top isn’t very intuitive. Still, after six confused but oddly joyful hours, I found myself hooked. Another six hours, then another… and around the twenty-hour mark, it finally clicked. The algorithm is firmly in charge you’re merely a cog it chooses to oil once in a while.

The game offers two modes: open world and campaign. Veteran players may feel right at home in open world, but newcomers will appreciate the guided structure of the campaign. You choose between two siblings — Marcus and Marcia — and the story adapts to that decision. Playing as Marcia immerses you in the full misogyny of the Roman Empire. She’s even absent from her own wedding to her elderly, ailing husband, whose affairs she must manage as governor of a small island. There’s much more to the narrative, but avoiding spoilers, I’ll simply say the campaign does a fantastic job of teaching every skill needed to move the story and your settlement forward.

Keeping your island prosperous is a major undertaking, with systems layered upon systems. For beginners, here are a few tips to stay afloat:

  1. Control the Clock. The speed dial in the lower-left corner lets you pause, speed up, or jump around the map. Pause often while building or troubleshooting.
  2. Create Planning Zones. Group related structures together. Residential neighborhoods benefit from markets and taverns, while industrial zones should stay far from homes NIMBY is alive and well in 117 CE. Also note that resources like mines or mills can only be placed in specific spots.
  3. Markets and Taverns. These are crucial for population growth and happiness. Prioritize them.
  4. Warehouses. They don’t increase total storage (that’s tied to research), but proximity dramatically affects production efficiency. Place them strategically within industrial hubs.
  5. Religion. Romans were not monotheists, and neither must you be. Switch deities as needed each provides different production bonuses that should align with your island’s resources.
  6. Civil Servants. As in modern times, they keep society running. Fire, disease, and riots are constant threats. Position service buildings between residential and industrial areas.

Of course, there are countless more strategies, but the best advice is simply to dive in. Downloads are hefty across Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, so check the recommended specs before starting.

What makes Anno 117 so addictive is that every second matters. Every decision has consequences some beneficial, some disastrous. You might be thriving one moment, only for a fire, epidemic, or political upheaval to upend everything the next. Yet that unpredictability is exactly what makes the experience compelling. This is your world to shape. Good luck.

If you want to see how my fourth (or sixth) attempt turned out, you can find my gameplay on YouTube at @EAngel2801 or on Twitch at BGNEAngel.

Early in October, Activision and Treyarch opened the beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 (BOP7), the eighth entry in the Black Ops franchise. The beta offered players an early look at both the multiplayer and Zombies modes marking the first time Zombies has ever been included in a Black Ops beta. It’s a smart move, as much of the “new” content seems to live in the undead arena this time around.

“New” might deserve quotation marks, though. While there are tweaks and adjustments across the board, BOP7 feels more like a fresh set of maps layered on top of a familiar experience than a fully new chapter. The Black Ops series has long had a fascination with the future: Black Ops II imagined warfare in 2025, Black Ops III pushed it to 2040, and Black Ops 4 reached 2045. While we’ll leave real-world comparisons of futuristic combat to our military experts (thank you for your service), BOP7 reminds us how close we’re getting to Treyarch’s imagined 2025 battlegrounds.

Gameplay during the beta felt a little different though it’s hard to say whether that’s perception or performance. Character movement seemed slightly tweaked, though the infamous “bunny hoppers” are still hopping right into crosshairs. One noticeable addition is the wall jump. Be warned: this isn’t the beloved wall-running mechanic from Advanced Warfare it’s more of a wall “stick” that often ends with players plummeting into pits while trying to pull off old tricks. It’s new, sure, but maybe not essential. More promising is the Rhino, a mechanized suit that introduces new possibilities for strategy and chaos.

A new multiplayer mode, Overload, also makes its debut. Teams fight to capture an overload device, transport it into the opposing team’s zone, and score points eight points secure the win. The device initially spawns in the center of the map before new spawn points appear as the match progresses. Overload manages to balance the needs of campers, run-and-gunners, and sentry players so long as someone remembers to actually play the objective. The small map size can be punishing for newcomers, though an expanded version could make the mode even more engaging.

Perks have received an update as well. Players can now create hybrid loadouts that combine two specialization trees for unique bonuses.

  • Red/Blue grants temporary invisibility.
  • Red/Green rewards assists by boosting elimination points for ten seconds.
  • Blue/Green charges field upgrades faster when using stealth tactics like suppressed or melee kills.

On the Zombies side, the beta leans into classic survival mechanics: restore power, survive waves, and exfiltrate when ready. New Gobblegums (in-match boosters) help extend survival time, while a new Perk-a-Cola Wisp Tea summons a spectral ally that can heal, distract, or devastate undead hordes. Returning features like elemental ammo get fresh twists too, such as Fire Work, which lets each bullet launch fireworks that actually damage enemies. A new field upgrade, Toxic Growth, allows players to deploy poisonous thorns that slow zombies — though they eventually fade away.

For newcomers, much of this may sound overwhelming, but Treyarch has included training modes for both multiplayer and Zombies. Even experienced FPS players might want a quick refresher to reacquaint themselves with the new mechanics. If you’re new to Zombies, the tutorial is essential it keeps you from being that teammate who doesn’t know how to turn on the power.

Ultimately, Black Ops 7 offers a mix of nostalgia and novelty. It doesn’t reinvent the formula, but it refines it, adding new layers to familiar chaos. For hardcore Zombies fans, the beta suggests that the undead experience will be a major draw this year. For everyone else, it’s a reliable, easy-to-jump-into Call of Duty with just enough new toys, skins, and gadgets to keep things interesting.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is set to launch November 14 on Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation.

The Milk Cup made its triumphant return this weekend at TwitchCon San Diego, bringing together 100 of the best women’s Fortnite players for the second annual women’s Fortnite LAN. On Saturday, October 18, fifty powerhouse duos battled live on stage for the 2025 series title and after an electrifying finale, Nina and Vader emerged as champions, taking home the trophy and a piece of the record-breaking $300,000 prize pool, the largest ever for a women’s Fortnite event in the U.S.

It was a high-stakes competition from start to finish, with the arena crowd roaring as every build, edit, and elimination played out in real time. When the dust settled, Nina not only took home the championship but was also crowned MVP of the tournament, while MiniMikae1a earned the Sportsmanship Award for embodying the Milk Cup’s community-driven spirit.

A Record-Breaking Year for Women’s Esports

The 2025 Milk Cup wasn’t just about the winners it marked a defining moment for women in competitive gaming. This year’s finals featured:

  • 50 duos (100 players) representing 14 states
  • 66% returning finalists, showcasing the tournament’s growing legacy
  • 4.3 million total views, cementing it as one of the most-watched women’s Fortnite events ever

Perhaps the most groundbreaking achievement was that The Milk Cup became the first third-party tournament to be broadcast on Fortnite’s official channels. That partnership amplified visibility for women’s esports on an unprecedented scale, bringing more eyes and more respect to women competitors in the scene.

Creators and Community Power the Hype

The excitement didn’t stop on the main stage. Six major co-streamers and seven watch parties helped spread the Milk Cup’s momentum across Twitch and social media. Popular creators like LuluLuvely, HappyHappyGal, AussieAntics, OliverOG, Zemie, Viancyy, and Khanada drew in massive audiences and fan engagement throughout the tournament.

Behind the scenes, the Milk Cup community kept growing stronger. The official Discord saw a 172% increase in members season-over-season, and players logged more than 28 scrim hours between May and October all proving that the hunger for women-centered esports spaces is alive and thriving.

“Milk Energy” Fuels the Competition

In true TwitchCon fashion, Gonna Need Milk introduced a clever twist on the gaming energy drink with the debut of “Milk Energy – The OG Energy Drink.” The limited-edition beverage, available exclusively at TwitchCon for partners and competitors, came in a Strawberry Crush flavor but here’s the kicker: it wasn’t your average caffeinated concoction.

Instead, the drink was lactose-free strawberry dairy milk, packed with nutrients like vitamins D and B-12, calcium, zinc, and complete proteins to promote focus and sustained energy — all without the crash and jitters of typical energy drinks. A hundred samples were distributed on-site, offering players and fans alike a refreshing reminder that fueling up doesn’t have to mean artificial caffeine overload.

Looking Ahead

With record viewership, a groundbreaking broadcast milestone, and a community that’s growing stronger by the day, the Milk Cup continues to redefine what’s possible for women in competitive Fortnite. Nina and Vader’s win is more than just a championship — it’s a statement about representation, recognition, and the power of women gamers commanding the main stage.

As the Milk Cup wraps its second season, one thing is clear: this isn’t just a tournament. It’s a movement.

At TwitchCon San Diego 2025, one of the standout conversations was about comfort, community, and creativity. The panel “Black Creators in the Cozy Gaming Space,” held on Saturday, October 18, brought together a powerhouse lineup of streamers who are reshaping what it means to be cozy online: MarcyLaycelle, Pink_Umbrella, Londy, and dprince216, with sweetxsage moderating the discussion.

As the name suggests, the cozy gaming community centers on games that soothe rather than stress. Titles like The Sims, Stardew Valley, and Animal Crossing. But this panel made one thing clear: behind every chill stream is a creator carving out something profound. For these Black creators, cozy gaming is a form of resistance, self-care, and community-building in a digital landscape that hasn’t always been welcoming.

What emerged from this conversation was a vision of cozy gaming that’s deeply intentional. These creators aren’t simply streaming games; they’re cultivating healing spaces, challenging stereotypes, and redefining digital comfort on their own terms.

The cozy gaming space has long been painted with a particular aesthetic, soft lighting, lo-fi beats, and pastel palettes. And for many, it’s been associated with white creators who embody that gentle, minimalist lifestyle. For a while, that visual dominance shaped perceptions of who belonged in cozy gaming. But a growing number of Black streamers are reshaping that narrative, proving that the cozy corner of Twitch and YouTube is as expansive and inclusive as the people who inhabit it.

Historically, Black gamers have been stereotyped into certain genres: shooters, fighting games, sports titles — the kinds of spaces defined by high energy and competition. While many excel there, the assumption that these are the only games Black players gravitate toward has been limiting. What this new wave of cozy creators demonstrates is that representation doesn’t require permission or validation; it begins by simply showing up. Every stream that features a Black gamer tending crops in Stardew Valley or designing furniture in The Sims is an act of quiet resistance and reclamation.

One streamer reflected on how finding supportive peers helped them grow not only as a creator but as a person. Racism and harassment can find their way into even the calmest corners of the internet, but what makes this community special is how it rallies around its members. When the hate inevitably shows up in a chat, the collective response isn’t to engage but to protect each other’s peace, keeping the positive energy flowing.

These creators also take pride in fostering spaces that mirror their own values, places built on kindness, respect, and shared vibes. Curating that environment requires intention. It’s not just about moderation tools or chat rules; it’s about cultivating an energy that feels safe, where viewers can relax without fear of ridicule or toxicity. As one streamer noted, it’s about finding “people with the same values and energy,” the ones who get what it means to make community feel like home.

One of the biggest challenges, however, is visibility. There’s still a scarcity of Black male representation in cozy gaming. While Black women creators are making visible strides, Black men often go unseen in this genre. It’s not that they’re absent, they’re just underrepresented in an algorithmic system that rarely surfaces them. For some, embracing their authentic selves meant unlearning internalized pressure to conform. Early on, a few felt the need to “tone down” aspects of their identity. The music they played, the way they spoke, to align with what cozy content was supposed to look or sound like. Over time, confidence replaced conformity. Now, they stream with rap beats in the background, bringing warmth and authenticity into a space that once told them to dim their light.

Boundaries are another essential part of this evolution. As streamers build growing communities, they face the delicate balance of being open and approachable while maintaining emotional safety. Setting limits about what topics are off-limits, what jokes cross the line, or when to disengage becomes a form of self-care. Sometimes that means gently redirecting a conversation with a lighthearted “we don’t do that here.” Other times, it means ignoring a message altogether to preserve energy for what truly matters: connection and joy.

At its core, the cozy gaming movement within the Black community is about expansion and expanding who gets to be seen, what “cozy” can sound like, and how inclusion can feel. It’s about redefining comfort not as a curated aesthetic, but as a shared emotional experience. These creators are proving that coziness isn’t fragile; it’s resilient. It’s the soft power of presence, the beauty of finding stillness in your truth, and the courage to make digital spaces feel like home for everyone.

At TwitchCon San Diego 2025, the “So You Want to Be a VTuber” panel brought together some of the community’s most engaging virtual creators to share insights on bringing digital avatars to life. Moderated by Kenley, the discussion featured ViviChanTheDragon, TelgarDrakore, Evanit0, and NekoMikki, each offering their own unique perspective on the artistry, technology, and community behind VTubing.

A crucial part of the why this topic is important is VTubing offers a layer of anonymity and safety, particularly for women and marginalized streamers. In a digital landscape where harassment and doxxing remain ongoing concerns, VTubing allows creators to separate their real identities from their online personas. This empowers many to create, perform, and build communities without fear of personal exposure.

The discussion began with introductions from several creators who balance VTubing with full-time jobs and convention organizing. Despite the long hours, their enthusiasm for fostering community and sharing knowledge was palpable. Many of them not only stream regularly but also host events, parties, and panels under organizations like VTuberCon Central spaces that celebrate and connect VTubers in real life.

The panel explored V-Tubing technology, breaking down how virtual avatars come to life. Most creators use face and body tracking software, which captures a person’s movements and expressions through webcams or smartphones, translating them into the motion of a digital avatar. The most widely used programs include VTube Studio by Denchisoft and Live2D by Live2D Inc., both of which are cornerstones of the industry. VTube Studio, in particular, was highlighted for its accessibility it’s available on Steam for free, making it an easy entry point for aspiring VTubers who want to experiment without major upfront costs.

For creators looking to step beyond the basics, 3D models often referred to as “rigged models” offer more dynamic animation and realism. However, these models tend to be more expensive and technically complex to set up. The panelists emphasized that while 3D modeling can elevate a stream’s production value, it’s not essential to start. Many successful VTubers use 2D or even static PNG avatars, demonstrating that creativity and personality matter more than elaborate graphics.

One panelist shared how their first custom model cost only a few hundred dollars, while others noted that free or pay-to-use models can still deliver impressive quality. The takeaway was clear: the barrier to entry is lower than ever. Aspiring VTubers can begin with simple tools, experiment with visual styles, and gradually upgrade as they grow their audience.

The panel also touched on finding and commissioning artists, a process that often crosses language and cultural boundaries. Platforms like VGen and Skeb were recommended for sourcing model illustrators and riggers. Skeb, a popular Japanese art commission site, offers access to a wide range of talented creators, though it does require translation tools to navigate. The story of one VTuber commissioning a Japanese artist, with help from a friend who learned the language illustrated both the challenges and the global reach of this creative ecosystem.

Panelists also reflected on what makes VTubing special: it’s a fusion of art, tech, and identity where anyone can perform, express, and connect without showing their face. Whether through high-end 3D models or charming PNGs, VTubers embody the future of online performance a space defined not by physical presence, but by creativity and community.

For newcomers curious about diving in, the advice was simple: start small, explore freely, and don’t be intimidated by the tech. With free tools, open-source resources, and a welcoming online community, the world of VTubing is wide open for anyone ready to bring their digital persona to life.

When Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE was first announced, fans of the global phenomenon had one burning question: how could Netmarble possibly translate the lightning-fast action and emotional intensity of the hit series into an interactive experience that lived up to expectations?

During TwitchCon San Diego 2025, BGN chatted with game director Kwanghun Kim from Netmarble, the developer and publisher behind ARISE OVERDRIVE, to talk about the challenges, innovations, and creative collaborations that went into bringing Sung Jinwoo’s journey to life on PC.

Translating Intensity into Interactivity

BGN: Solo Leveling is known for its breathtaking action and high-stakes storytelling. What were some of the biggest challenges in adapting that into gameplay?

Netmarble: The main focus of this game is not about the monsters it’s about the main character, Sung Jinwoo himself. We really focused on how he attacks, rather than how other hunters or creatures behave. The biggest challenge was making those controls intuitive and accessible for every kind of player. We wanted that sense of powerful, cinematic action to come through even for fans who aren’t experienced gamers.

The result is a game that captures the signature rhythm and weight of Solo Leveling’s battles, while still feeling fluid and approachable.

Expanding Beyond the Mobile Version

BGN: How does ARISE OVERDRIVE build on or differ from the original Solo Leveling: ARISE?

Netmarble: We added a lot of new mechanics, things like parry and guard systems that weren’t in the mobile version,” they shared. “We also introduced skill combos like the Synchro Chain and the Overdrive System, which let three hunters launch coordinated attacks together. These features expand the experience so players feel like they have full control over every movement and moment.

With these refinements, ARISE OVERDRIVE feels more like a next-gen evolution than a simple port.

New Systems, New Transformations

BGN: Can you share any gameplay mechanics or character systems fans will experience for the first time in Overdrive?

Netmarble: Three big things. First is the Monarch Transformation. Sung Jinwoo can now fully transform into the Monarch of Shadows. That was something we really wanted to capture. Second is the Overdrive Skill, unique to each hunter. It’s inspired by familiar action systems but designed to fit the world of Solo Leveling perfectly. And third, the Synchro Chain, that moment when all three hunters attack together. It really amplifies the sense of power and teamwork.

Working Closely with the Creators

BGN: Did you collaborate with the original Solo Leveling creators or animation team during development?

Netmarble: Absolutely. We were in constant communication with the original writer and other stakeholders. For example, we added a customization system where players can change Sung Jinwoo’s hairstyle or add accessories. We made sure the IP owner was comfortable with that, and they loved the idea. Everything we added went through that approval process to ensure we stayed true to the core spirit of Solo Leveling.

A Game Made by Fans, for Fans

With its expanded mechanics, high-fidelity visuals, and faithful character portrayal, Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE is a reinvention. Netmarble’s passion for the source material shines through every motion, combo, and transformation.

Fans can step into the shadows themselves when Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE launches this November on Steam and Xbox PC.

TwitchCon San Diego 2025 officially kicked off this weekend with a milestone celebration marking the platform’s 10th anniversary. The convention brings together streamers, fans, and brands for a weekend of live music, exclusive merch, leveled-up lounges, interactive gaming, and can’t-miss meet and greets all while spotlighting the future of live content creation.

During the Opening Ceremony Keynote, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy took the stage to unveil a wave of platform updates that signal Twitch’s next evolution. From dual-format streaming to AI-driven tools and expanded sponsorship opportunities, the updates reflect the company’s continued commitment to empowering creators, fostering discovery, and strengthening community.

“Together, these changes represent Twitch’s next era: one focused on helping creators grow, connect, and build sustainable careers,” Clancy shared.

The Next Chapter of Streaming Innovation

Among the standout announcements was Dual-Format Streaming, which allows creators to broadcast in both horizontal and vertical formats simultaneously ideal for reaching audiences across platforms and devices. The feature enters Beta next week following successful testing over the summer.

In a surprising move, Twitch also revealed a partnership with Meta, allowing streamers to go live directly from AI-powered glasses. The Twitch mobile app will soon support this integration, blurring the line between IRL experiences and live digital storytelling.

Another key highlight is Auto Clips, an AI-assisted feature that automatically generates clips of a stream’s most exciting moments. Designed to help viewers catch up on the action they might have missed, Auto Clips aims to make content discovery effortless for fans and more rewarding for creators.

Building Sustainability and Safety for Streamers

Twitch continues to refine how creators earn on the platform. Streamer-led promotions, which launched earlier this year, have boosted gifting revenue by up to 250% for mid-sized creators. Meanwhile, expanded sponsorship tools in the Creator Dashboard will soon bring more advertisers and third-party offers directly to streamers, including Affiliates.

To support healthy communities, Twitch is reworking its moderation enforcement system. Moving forward, most suspensions will apply only to specific offending behaviors rather than a blanket ban from the platform, an approach designed to be more fair and context-aware.

Two new creator roles are also rolling out in November: one for agents and managers who will gain access to analytics and financials, and another for Lead Moderators, who can manage moderation teams and settings more efficiently.

A Weekend of Immersive Activations

Day one of TwitchCon 2025 also brought a wave of excitement across the show floor, as partners and sponsors showcased their latest innovations:

  • Streamlabs introduced Stream Shift, a Tubbo-inspired feature that lets creators transition seamlessly between mobile and PC livestreams.
  • Quantic Dream wowed attendees with a live gameplay debut and insider sessions for its newly revealed title Spellcasters Chronicles.
  • Toyota gave fans a sneak peek at the exclusive trailer for Toyota GRIP, screening only at the TwitchCon Arcade.
  • Netmarble offered anime fans a hands-on demo of Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE, one of the convention’s most buzzed-about titles.
  • Embark Studios synced ARC Raiders’ “Sever Slam” event with TwitchCon, building hype ahead of the game’s launch.
  • Krafton unleashed PUBG’s chaotic new PvE Arcade mode, complete with a Skibidi Toilet boss battle.
  • e.l.f. Cosmetics unveiled a groundbreaking shoppable livestream feature in partnership with Twitch and Amazon, letting viewers buy beauty products in real time.

As TwitchCon celebrates ten years of streaming culture, the message is clear: the platform is growing and evolving. With bold new tools, brand collaborations, and a renewed focus on community, Twitch is redefining what it means to go live.
